Flat Stanley has been travelling to all the wonders of the world from ruins, architecture that stands the test of time and new civilization. Stanley has been entertaining children through the generations, his unique design of being a flat cutout allows him to move and slip through things with ease and this sparked millions of children to create their own flat paper cutout designs. This story was originally published in 1964 by Jeff Brown, the tale is full of playfulness, hilarity and comedic scenes, the work has become one of the most loved series at home and in schools. Due to an incident of a notice board falling on Stanley during his sleep, upon waking he finds himself completely flat and just one inch thick, yet he now discovers himself with the new found ability to be able to fly around the world like a kite and fit through the post.
The idea of the story came from Jeff Brown’s sons when one night they asked what would happen if the notice board above them were to fall on them, Brown said that you will wake up flat and this led to his idea of what a life might look like.
